Social-emotional learning is one of the most important and least emphasized areas of the elementary curriculum. As the school social worker, I will utilize these books and games to help children develop the skills necessary to become caring, confident, and considerate human beings. Additionally, these materials will help children with behaviors related to anger management, executive functioning skills, trauma, mindfulness, and attention.
I work with children individually and in small groups and often struggle to meet their needs without proper tools and materials. These books and games will help me in developing appropriate and beneficial lesson plans and activities that are meaningful, thoughtful, and purposeful to each child I work with.
