My students need to learn as many life skills as possible to help them prepare for the real world as much possible. We will go on field trips throughout the school year to help their skills. We will visit local restaurants where students will have to read and order from a menu, use the proper silverware, and use appropriate manners. We will also compete in Special Olympics such as bowling, and track and field. We have to practice three times before each and it cost each time we practice. We have to pay the gas money and food for our students. 90% of my students are on free and reduced lunches and unable to pay for any trips we go on. We will also take trips to the Arkansas State University to tour the college and watch a basketball game. We will be learning about basketball to build math skills. To do these trips, it costs a lot of money that my students are unable to bring. I want them to be able to experience as many real world experiences as possible.
