Today's generation of students rely heavily on technology. While technology is a wonderful resource for educational purposes, the availability of technology (or proper technology) in the classroom is often limited due to funding. This happens to be the case for my kindergarten students.
I have noticed that when my students can openly engage with technological devices, such as smart boards or computers, they are more enthused to learn and seem to have a better capability to learn.
I plan to use the kindle tablets as a learning resource for my students. Since I have a Prime membership with Amazon, I am easily able to obtain specific games and books that can help differentiate lessons for my higher and lower groups of students. Furthermore, I can use the tablets for guided reading lessons and help students who struggle sight words learn with sight word games and programs. Because these are tablets and not computers, my students can become more versatile and comfortable in learning.
