Each year, our 4th and 5th graders have the opportunity to participate in our district's Battle of the Books. Each participant reads 8 books to be able to compete (in teams) against other schools in the Clark County School District in a Jeopardy-style tournament.
In order to participate, each student must read the pre-determined 8 books and study them throughout the course of the year. They must know these books inside and out in order to have a chance to win the competition! With limited funding this year at our school and in the library, purchasing these titles is not easy.
The purpose of this project is to request sets of eight books each for 7 of the 8 titles of Battle of the Books to get us started so our students may have the opportunity to compete! Please consider donating to this project to help our students participate in the 2016-2017 Battle of the Books!
