Our classroom is very different from a normal, general education classroom. We have students that range in age from 5-13 years old. All of the students are considered special education and have a disability. Of those students, most also receive additional services from occupational and physical therapy, as well as, speech and language services. These students have a difficult time retaining information from one day to the next. We use multiple modalities to help them learn, and retain the information. As a teacher, I am constantly searching for ways to help them learn and retain the information. I work with the therapists to incorporate their strategies into my lessons to help give the students the extra services that they need.
