A group of excited high school students came together to create a FIRST Robotics Team, Crowbotics #5934. This is the only team in DeKalb County that has entered into the FRC robotic environment. Our team consists of 20 students, two adult mentors, and two student mentors from Northern Illinois University. Freshman through seniors came together to work on building robotic structures from scratch for the very first time. Students work together after school to develop branding, marketing, sponsorship, outreach, and build a robot. This is a team with a diverse skill set that work together to accomplish a goal, live and model the mission of FIRST Robotics. We are inspired to become leaders in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields. Crowbotics students are continuing to engage in hands-on life skills, building self-confidence, enhancing communication, and implementing teamwork in this amazing sport-of-the-mind.
