Students learn best and are more motivated when they are comfortable in their learning environment. When given the opportunity to choose where they're working, students are more engaged. Students enjoy hands-on activities and materials.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work.
The materials I have selected will provide a more effective learning environment. They give students the opportunity to get up and move to a different location. The wobble cushions will be beneficial to help get some of the wiggles out. On the flip side you have students who just want to be in the zone and eliminate distractions, the privacy folders will greatly support those students.
Students are also more engaged when provided the opportunity to use dry erase boards versus paper/pencil work.
I have seen how choice and engaging materials have positively impacted student work and demeanor!
