We are a high poverty school of over 540 students, where 100% of our students qualify for free lunch and over 65% come from homes where English is not their first language. I know each of my students have individual struggles at home and some have developmental struggles, but everyday they arrive at school eager to learn and grow. I asked them at the beginning of school what they wanted to learn and most of them said they wanted to learn to read. So we made our goals to do that very thing. My students have worked so hard and are so determined. I could not be more proud of them.
