My Kindergarten classroom consists of 23 students. My students are inquisitive, eager, energetic and adventurous. Not to sound cliche, but they are walking sponges. Their curiosity both inspire and scare me at the same time. I go home each day thinking about how I can make a particular subject come to life for them.
Our school is located in a high crime area, where the poverty level is sometimes just below 100 percent. School, for many of my students is the one place that provides them with a sense of security and belonging.
