My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. These items have been have been chosen with my students in mind. Students will be able to relax in the the Class Library in this flexible seating and choose books from a lovely, organized library, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. They will all be clamoring to get to read in this area.
With this fresh, new and organized Class Library Oasis, students will be able to choose a book of their interest and ease into the couch and or carpet feeling comfortable and safe as they read. The basket for holding books will prove to be durable over time and the labels will help students to access their interests most efficiently. This inviting home-like area will undoubtably lower anxiety levels students may be feeling at any given time, due to the many challenges they have endured and continue to face during this time of uncertainty and continuous change brought on by the Pandemic of Covid19.
The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and this inviting Library area will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students have always shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
