An inviting library that is geared to meet the literacy needs of every student in my classroom is my goal this school year! In my classroom, students will use their book bins everyday. They will fill them up with "good fit" books that are suited for their ability, but most importantly, books they find interesting and engaging. Students will be allowed to take their bins and read any place in the room that they feel comfortable, including the library area!
I hope to create a fun, inviting, and engaging library with a colorful chevron rug and individualized book bins! With a bin full of books, students will no longer waste time looking for a book to read and will spend more time engaged in meaningful reading!
What better way to get students to buy into their literacy development, than through fostering individual choice of books in an engaging, inviting environment?
