Our school is located in rural central Kansas and is comprised of students from six small communities. We live approximately twenty miles from the nearest town with a grocery store.
Despite limited resources, my fifth grade students are eager to learn! We enjoy a wide variety of lessons including hands-on activities, picture books, computer and iPad games, videos as well as more traditional textbook assignments.
Donors Choose has had an unbelievable impact in our classroom. Thanks to projects that have been funded by generous donors, my students have a plethora of hands-on math, science, and social studies resources that we use on a daily basis as well as a set of 12 iPads!
