My students come from less than ideal backgrounds. I always tell them that when they walk into my classroom, they can forget about all of their outside problems. They are safe and sound and given opportunities that other children around the world lack. These children have overcome many obstacles and my goal is to get each and every student to graduate with a diploma. Each of my students has their unique way of learning. My goal is to allow them the chance to go beyond their expectations. My school is a mini school in District 75 in the New York City Department of Education in Brooklyn. All of my students have Individualized Educational Plans, or IEP'S. This hits home for me because I have two children of my own that have IEP's. I want my students to have the same success as if they were my own children. Every student deserves a chance regardless of their disability. I believe this new technology will improve their skills and help with their self-esteem.
