Flexible seating is a way for those students that struggle to incorporate movement and out of seat engagement while still learning. This is new and innovative and the data shows great results.
My class is a wonderful mixture of high energy students. They all want to learn, but often struggle with focus and the desire to be on the move...sitting still is not in their vocabulary. This new idea in education about providing students with alternative ways to function in a traditional classroom. It takes into account the needs of all learners, from the ones that need to sit at a traditional desk, to the ones that need to stand, to the ones that may even need to bounce a bit.
Also, having a Chromebook in the classroom allows me some latitude in how I address the learning styles of my students.
