Our classroom at Ralston High School is comprised of students 9th through 12th grade who have Individual Education Plans. Their individual needs are met through classes such as Corrective Reading and Study Skills in a block scheduling course method. At times depending on the needs of the students, this length of time can be difficult for students to remain seated at a traditional desk. By offering a variety of seating opportunities, students are able to participate in small group discussion and be an active participant in their learning. Additionally this type of seating arrangement allows students to feel more comfortable in the classroom which leads to more participation and willingness to attend school.
