I teach in an inner city neighborhood charter school in Oklahoma. Our school is a very forward thinking school. We are always researching and adopting new ideas to help better serve our kids. I have never seen a staff as a whole so supportive and devoted to the kids and the school as I have in our school. It is truly a special place and the kids know it! Many of our students struggle with focus. School is often the only place they are allowed to just be kids as they are dealing with such challenges with in their home lives. This forces teachers like me to come up with some creative ways of channeling that activity into a more positive direction, as well as provide an outlet for all those excess wiggles!
