Currently, we have only a black and white printer and it does not print photos. Because of this, my students rarely see their photography except on a computer screen. Using memory cards and card readers to upload their photos to the computer is a necessary step in publishing them anywhere, and a handy skill in today's technology-driven world.
Having a color photo printer would allow students to print their best images to be hung and admired in class -- akin to younger students getting refrigerator space for great work. Being able to look at their printed images is confidence building for the students whose work it is, and inspiring to others striving to improve their photography skill.
