The students in my class, as in all classes, display a plethora of unharnessed talent. It is my passion to help them understand their strengths and weaknesses, coach them through processes that help them understand how to best utilize their talents, work through creative processes and become critical thinkers, collaborate in the classroom, in the community, and globally, and to fail forward. Our classroom looks a little different than some, it seems more like a living room than a classroom. We have various work spaces with different seating options. At any time you might see kids working on the floor, at a coffee table, at a dining room table, a high top table, sitting on a bench, working at lap desks, sitting on a beanbag with clip boards, etc. This flexible seating has increased student learning, behavior, engagement, and empowerment. I know it looks and feels different than the rooms grew up in!
