The students at our large comprehensive high school are unique! A truly integrated demographic from all racial and socioeconomic levels blended in the highest performing school in our major metropolitan area. Large numbers of our students are bussed in from urban areas. We are always strapped for resources, with no department supply budget or district supported curriculum. In fact we have not had a text adoption in a core science for more than 10 years. ALL of our students take three years of state university approved college prep science. Students living in public assistance housing take the same classes as local area students. We have more than 70% of our students attending 4 year universities after graduation, and many more (20%) attending community colleges. Irrespective of their home circumstances, our students are ambitious, polite and a pleasure to teach.
