Funding this project will allow students to develop fine motor skills needed to continue forward in order to write, count, and manipulate objects. Research shows that children usually learn foundational skills during infancy and toddler-hood as readiness to use school tools. Because many of my students are not able to develop some of these skills due to a lack of available activities, they need to develop their little muscles. While developing their fine motor skills they will also be developing their little brains. These activities will allow them to recognize and become familiar their alphabet, numbers and shapes .
Working fingers are learning fingers, using manipulatives to learn is fun! My students will enhance their fine motor skills with these specific materials that will be used daily as centers . The sand is a great way to work their muscles in their little hands to build strength to be stronger writers.
