According to the 2013-14 school year report card, the following numbers represent my school student population. We have over 450 1-5 graders, 99.6% of whom are African-American, 99.6% are low income, 10.1% have disabilities and 7% are homeless (compared with 2% at state level).
My students are generally good kids who are eager to learn new things. This is the second year for physical education at the elementary schools in this district. PE is new to these students. Most of them need the benefits that speed stacking will bring them. A lot of the students could benefit from increased physical activity.
