This project will give an organized space for individualized activities called task baskets, as well as materials for making the activities. The shelf and corresponding cubbies will house up to 15 individual tasks that are easy to differentiate among the various skill levels of my students. My students have a wide range of skill levels ranging from 12 months to 4 years. This shelving unit will allow tasks from all levels to be easily accessible to students.
An organized and accessible classroom is absolutely necessary in the early childhood special education environment. The materials requested will help students feel accomplished by successfully completing tasks at their skill level. Students will be able to get to the tasks easily and return the items, growing independence and confidence.
