I have 51 fourth graders that come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. They also come from hard working single parent households. My students understand that they have to do their homework on their own and read to themselves.
My school is located in the heart of South Oak Cliff. The area may not be the best but its home to my young scholars. The community around my school is surrounded by violence, gangs and drugs. Yes its not ideal but somehow my students parents make it work and bring their kids to school everyday to learn.
If my campus had the funding, I know that every teacher would have the technology we need to teach. In today's educational world its all about the 21st century scholar. I need technology to accommodate 21st century learners.
