Teaching students so that each day is better than the day before:) I teach a middle school Autism unit in a urban setting. Many of my students are non-verbal and function significantly behind their same age peers. I teach them real world skills that will help in their day to day lives as they grow into young men and women. The 6-8th graders that I have will most likely be in school until they are 21 and need to have repetition of skills to become independent functioning society members.
