My kindergarten students are four and five years old, and they love to explore and learn about the world around them through play and hands-on lessons. There are 22 students in my class, and they are part of a diverse school community located in the inner city. Many of the students in my classroom speak languages other than English at home. They are enthusiastic learners who come to school excited to participate in our day to day classroom routines and activities. I strive to make my classroom environment one in which each student feels respected, valued, and able to take academic and social emotional risks each day.
