I am seeking funding for my school鈥檚 TK, K and 1st-grade students to go on a field trip to Happy Hollow Park & Zoo. My school is in a low-income community in downtown San Jose, and 76% of our families are considered socio-economically disadvantaged. Even though Happy Hollow is just a couple of miles away, many of these families cannot afford to visit this iconic local zoo.
Happy Hollow鈥檚 new field trip program treats kids from low-income schools to a day of up-close animal encounters, conservation education, and safe play and exploration in the great outdoors! We want to go on our field trip in March when students will be learning a unit about plants and animals. At Happy Hollow, they will learn about animal habitats and what various species need to survive. In addition to admission for students and chaperones and bus transportation, this field trip package includes a life-science lesson with the zoo鈥檚 education team and live animal ambassadors.
Thank you for helping ensure that our kids can interact with, learn from and enjoy nature and its miraculous creatures in the heart of urban San Jose!
