I'm a new teacher to this school. We are an inner city school and a lot of my students want to learn new games and skills, but their families do not have the resources to allow their children to become more active in the community. I plan on teaching lacrosse to my classes to teach them about a game that is becoming more popular in the United States. Another benefit from this is that all of my students will start off on the same skill level which will encourage all students to participate without worrying about being embarrassed about their current skill set. We have a great group of kids here that need reasons to show up to school every day, and I feel that this is one way to help with that.
