Help my students use modern supplies while learning to cook in the classroom! I teacher 7th & 8th grade students basic cooking skills. Some of the students have been cooking at home for years but some have never turned on the stove! The supplies I currently have are usable but I like to describe my kitchens like this: You know how when a couple gets married they get brand new things and it's amazing? And then, about 15 years later they need another shower to get new supplies? That's how the kitchens in my classroom are!
I have well stocked kitchens but almost all of the supplies are old, outdated and worn down. I would love to provide my students new supplies so they can have a great experience in the classroom and really feel special while cooking.
I would love to do a waffle unit in class. There are so many ways to use a waffle iron that isn't just making waffles! The measuring cups are such a great way for students to learn how to measure liquids in a less intimidating way. I would also love to do a knife cutting unit but my kitchens are missing knives! Learning to cut is such an important skill to know!
Thank you for your support of my students!
