Every year, without fail, a favorite place in our classroom is the Home Living center! My students love the chance to role play! I love watching their social skills grow in this area - they learn how to appropriately communicate with each other, they learn to work together, they learn to make their own decisions (what to cook, when to serve it, how many people for breakfast/lunch/dinner, etc.), and they learn how to wait patiently to come to this center as it is always in high demand during inside recess or free choice center time. Our current home living center is falling apart from so many wonderful children using it over the years. We lost a door to our stove and sink this year and have to hold our refrigerator doors a certain way to get them to close. We need to FLIP our home living center so it is not a FLOP any longer!
