The illustration markers will provide resources to nearly 120 from grades 6 through 8. The markers will be used on two separate projects. The first project is an illustration project which challenges 6th grade students to develop illustrations that represent themselves. Using drawings that represent their interests, hobbies, cultures, and talents, students will create a personal illustration based around their initials.
The resources you provide will also be used to provide students in the 7th and 8th grades with a lesson in hip hop culture and the art form of graffiti. Students learn about the history of this art form and its evolution. Students learn about the impact that commissioned and legal graffiti can have on communities as well as the artists who practice this powerful and engaging artform.
