My students are predominately Hispanic and Haitian. They are extremely poor and have limited resources. Their parents work long days in factories and the children are extremely needy. They come to school hungry, dirty and with no supplies. I want to create an engaging learning environment that helps students become active learners. The basic tools are necessary for their success. Also I would like to build a library in my classroom and I don't have any books. I need 5-10 copies of each book I've requested to have Literature Circles.
