These cushions will allow my students to get their wiggles out while still being able to sit safely and work on their reading comprehension and math skills. Improving in both reading and math take lots of honest-to-goodness-practice. My students have long periods of testing practice to prepare for the state test at the end of the year. Being able to wiggle while sitting will improve their focusing and their ability to be successful in their efforts to become more engaged learners.
As the year progresses I can see the need for longer sitting to be a problem for some of my students, being able to wiggle and still be safe is a very important factor in their success this year.
Some of my kids can manage, but I feel that my students are aching to be successful in their endeavor to master third grade and slay the state test, if movement is a built-in part of their school day.
