I come from a rural school that is funded by Title 1 and has a high poverty level. We all know that students are motivated by extrinsic rewards. I have found over the years that having candy for rewards and available for my students to purchase with their earned money from our class store works wonders. Some students never have had the opportunity to earn money and make the choice on what they want to spend it on.
