As a Physical Education teacher, I see all 380 students. As soon as one class leaves, the next is arriving. My students are very dynamic. Each class has its own differentiated instruction strategy necessary for success. They enter reading a board with directions that will eventually lead them to their "homespots" or a particular area of the gym. Many of the students have extra energy due to all the testing that elementary students need to take so they are very eager to get active. They are students who will collaborate, analyze, synthesize, and learn how to effectively communicate with each other when given the opportunity. Our school is in an urban community with 59% considered economically disadvantaged. A full 20% of my students are on IEPs with one self-contained special education class.
