The soccer balls will let us introduce the world's most popular sports to our students where each student has a ball to practice the dribbling, shooting, passing and trapping skills. The pinnies will help transition our students from one mini game to another where they can devise offensive and defensive strategies quickly. The pinnies will also eliminate confusion as our students refine chase/evasion skills, passing to a moving target, game strategy, teamwork, and other skills that will carry over to real world roles.
The equipment we are asking for all revolves around getting our students more organized into smaller sided games where they are constantly participating rather waiting on a side of a field. The color coded soccer balls will help our students stay within their groups as we get into mini games to refine their skills with more practice time and more touches with a ball. The orange cones will establish borders so our students can move safely when participating in different activities and games.
Donating to this project will help rebuild our equipment inventory where each student will have a chance to develop lifetime skills and fitness habits. This will give our students a more equitable opportunity to grow into stronger and more fit adults.
