Majority of my students live on the south-side of Chicago. My school is a low-income charter school with majority of our students being African American and Hispanic. They are 4th graders, 5th graders and 6th graders. I teach only reading for one hour to each grade level and my students rotate to three other classroom for their other core subjects. At my school and within my classroom, we work hard to create an environment the fosters inquiry learning. We challenge our students to express themselves through different outlets and to find multiple solutions to a problem. My students are excited when I show them different ways to use the technology that they currently have. We mostly use technology whole group on my laptop daily but it does not help to foster a more personalize differentiate atmosphere for my students.
