The students in my classroom are like human puzzles. Each of them has their own set of distinctive challenges. However, each of them has a set of unique talents just waiting to be unlocked. My students learn best when they are exposed to materials in a variety of formats, when their learning actions outcomes, and when all of their senses are engaged. The students in my class come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Most of them are English language learners whose families speak a language other than English at home. For many of them, school is the only place they will practice their English skills. Our school is located in a high poverty district. Most students here receive free or reduced price lunch. It is unlikely that students in my classroom have much exposure to technology outside of the school setting. No wonder they find computers so addictive and fascinating!
