I work in a public school with a diverse group of students. They are excited about learning and enjoy having the opportunity to work together and participate during rug activities. Unfortunately, as a newer teacher, I did not have many resources or furniture to work with. Part of their learning involves an inviting classroom community and I feel that having a new, comfortable rug that provides spaces for them, will make them feel more responsible and engage them to participate more. Also, resources are low, and having the Scholastic Magazine subscription will engage them in our Social Studies curriculum, as a way for them to connect to things happening around the world. Digital issues will expose them to technology and is another form of materials.
