I teach in a unique magnet middle school. We have a 50/50 ratio of black and white students. Our school is also Title 1, which means more than fifty percent are at or below the poverty level. Our school is not the typical neighborhood school. Students are bused in from all over the county to attend. The Archery team is a co-ed team. This is a new concept for the students since PE classes aren't co-ed. The school has an accelerated academic curriculum. It is a preparatory school that truly has the students ready for high school and college. The curriculum provides experiences for academic exploration, extension, and mastery of core subjects with emphasis placed on broad based enrichment opportunities.
