My Kindergarten students spend a lot of time together learning. Multiple times throughout the day we gather on the rug for direct instruction in reading, writing and math. We are an International Baccalaureate school and really work in collaboration with our students' inquiries.
Having this chart stand will help students design a path of their inquiries in our everyday learning. Students will have direct access to the stand at multiple points in the day. During reading time, they will be able to access big books and share in the reading process. During phonics, students can manipulate magnets to blend and segment words, increasing their phonological awareness. At writers workshop, students can chart ideas of writing prompts and help model proper writing techniques. During math, students can collaborate and share their thinking in various mathematical applications.
