I have a class of 25 Adapted PE students. They range from mild autism to down syndrome and from extremely active to not active at all. Our High School offers amazing facilities to its students. As a class, we have access to an indoor and outdoor track, gym, mat room, and weight room. As we have ample access to physical space to participate in physical education, supplies are limited for an Adapted PE class. My students love to play badminton with balloons, volleyball with large balloon balls, and most of all they LOVE to dance. Anytime we do circuit training or power walking in class, my students are constantly asking me to turn on the music. As soon as I put the music on, all of my students are instantly motivated. Music energizes and puts a smile on each and every one of my student's faces. My most difficult students to motivate in class are boosted by music in the gym.
