My students are third graders that come from a low-income community. 85% of my school receives free and reduced-price lunch. Almost my whole class receives free and reduced-price lunch. Most of my students come from homes where their parents do not speak English. 16 out of my 22 students are ESL and are eager to learn English, but also work on their Spanish. My students are very sweet children who truly want to learn. School is their safe haven. A place where they experience things they might never get to elsewhere.
My school is a warm and positive community where teachers work together to help all students succeed in whatever way possible. Every classroom is inclusion, there are many special education push-ins, ESL push-ins, basic skills pull outs, and an occupational therapist.
