We need support with our early childhood preschool students in the area of regulation, motor skills, attention, and focus. We are setting up a sensory/motor room for students to utilize when they need a specialized location to regulate their body and work on coping skills. Due to COVID, many students have had limited exposure to a variety of sensory experiences and the classroom setting.
We need sensory motor supports including fidgets, weighted items, flexible seating, and access to vestibular and proprioceptive activities that students can use to regulate their body and be ready to learn in the classroom. Having a sensory motor room will allow the flexibility to meet the needs of our students.
