Our middle school students had the opportunity to choose one club this year. They had many other choices such as 4-H, Dungeons and Dragons, Fellowship of Christian Students, Science Club, Sports Club, and Yearbook. They could only choose ONE club! ONE! There are 17 students who have eagerly chosen the Book Club! Hooray!
As the sponsor of the Book Club, I would LOVE to be able to provide books free of charge to these students. Our middle school is located in a very small town in south Louisiana. Our small town flooded two years ago in 2016, and most of our students and their families are still recovering financially.
For this project, I have chosen three books from our 2019 Louisiana Young Readers' Choice Awards list. During the course of the school year, students in the Book Club will independently read each book, and then we will meet as a club to discuss the books. Once students have finished reading these three books, they will qualify to vote for their favorite book in the 2019 Louisiana Young Readers' Choice Election.
By donating to this project, you will put books in the hands of eager readers and nurture their growing minds.
