I work in a title one school so funds can be tight. Many of my students come from homes that struggle economically. I think this book would really speak to them and they would relate to the main character, Meg, who is seen as a troublesome teenager. Some think she is immature, but her family believes she can do great things. I think many of my students will relate and be drawn to her growth and character development. Plus, I am planning on working with my team's math and science teachers to tie in lessons from multiple subjects with the book. I love this book's themes of not conforming and use of science fantasy. I would love the opportunity to experience this wonderful book again with my students. I think it would have a wonderful impact on them in this stage of their lives.
