Support Ms. Zhang's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
Through meaningful play and experimentation, these materials will motivate students and provide new forms of engagement. Students will have an opportunity to explore their interests, learn to use tools and materials, and develop creative projects.
Items such as the Electronictech craft and the Makey Makey Invention will give students a chance to take everyday objects and make them into touchpads and combine them to the internet. Additional items such as the Gravity Maze and Snap circuits will give students the opportunity to become engineers and scientists and give them first hand experience with the creation of things.
Additional hands-on resources, such as Legos and Coloring Books, will provide students with the tools for increasing understanding of spatial relations and geometric patterns as it relates to math. All items in the cart are vital to give students the experience to learn in a way that relates to their core subjects: math, reading, and science.
My hope is that the media center will become a place where learning feels relevant to students’ identities and interests while giving students the opportunity for creating using a variety of media, tools and practices.
At the same time I hope these items will help bridge the connection between learning in the classroom and the world at large and help students understand the application of the classroom to their lives.
