My students are 1st-6th graders who attend a K-6 elementary school. They are from a lower socio-economic area. They enjoy being active and are striving to meet the PE/Health science state standards for their grade level. Most of my students cannot afford to play on sports teams outside of school or participate in sports camps. As their Physical Education teacher I feel it is my job to teach them the basic fundamentals and biomechanics of how to throw, hit, dribble, and pass a ball. My students need class sets of balls, rackets, and flags. My students are eager to learn and be active. Lack of funds has left them with outdated equipment that is worn and torn. Purchasing new equipment would motivate students and keep them active.
