I work at a Title 1 school in my district and many households do not have access to technology at home, which makes keeping up with the demands of this technology enhanced society hard to do. My school is about 50% Hispanic students and has over a 40% English Language Learner population. My students have inquisitive and brilliant young minds and are always looking for new things to learn but don't have access to all the technology in which to conduct their research and keep up with other students who do have access. They enjoy researching history and conducting science projects; they love to learn new facts and apply those to real-world situations; they are hungry for technology and all that it will open up for them for their future. They have the capacity to make a real positive change in this world and I want to be able to give them all the necessary tools to make that possible.
