I teach incredibly kind and empathetic students who are passionate about making a difference in their communities.
I currently teach Honors English 10 within our school's STEAM Academy, English 11, and AP Literature and Composition. I count myself lucky to work with a population of students with diverse backgrounds, interests, and talents.
My teaching philosophy can be summarized by these statements:
My hope is to...
- Build a bridge to each student and nurture them.
- Inspire students to learn and engage.
- Create a classroom of play and exploration that encourages critical thinking and ingenuity.
- Cultivate passion, curiosity, compassion, and empathy in my students, so they feel empowered to use their voices and their talents to impact change and growth in their communities and world.
Every year I believe I've learned far more from my students than they do from me. I count myself lucky to say that.
