The students I teach are from low income families. Many times they come to school dirty and hungry. The students often do not have the money for lunch; therefore, I purchase their lunch for them. The students do not have school supplies of their own. The teachers have to supply the materials for their classrooms. The students wear uniforms that, are many times, to small or two big for their little bodies. The school I teach in is run down and old. The building is in desperate need of repair. We can see daylight shining through the cracks in the walls. Teachers are required to supply his/her classroom. This puts a strain on the teachers financially.
